    Founder & Managing Director

    Simon is a geek, an entrepreneur, passionate about the mechanisms of influence, and can’t stay away from news portals.

    He leads Influence Matters with the vison that only great work will drive the agency’s growth, so he puts our clients’ results before anything else at work. His wife and daughters are the bosses at home.

    Simon specializes in creating impactful ways to activate ecosystems of influence to generate awareness in highly targeted circles, with a particular focus on B2B tech, market entry, corporate, brand and product communications.

    He’s been in China continuously since 2002, spending all of his career at two international agencies running high profile cross-border influencer engagement strategies for global and Chinese large organizations, before figuring out these agencies’ structure did not suit the need for flexibility and efficiency required by today’s fast growing tech companies. So he set up Influence Matters in 2015 to fix that.

  • HUANG Shan

    Senior Executive, Strategy and Account Management

    Shan has a solid background in public affairs with a particular focus on communication strategy, industry research and stakeholder engagement.

    Prior to joining Influence Matters, he worked as a government affairs consultant at APCO Worldwide. He also worked at the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China as a working group assistant. He helped multinational companies and institutions understand the Chinese market and its complex policy and regulatory landscape and devised effective communication strategies to build and protect clients’ reputation among key stakeholders.

    Shan holds a Bachelor’s degree in French Language from Renmin University of China and a Master’s degree from ESCP Europe Business School in Paris, France. He is fluent in English and French.

  • Jeff HE

    Executive, Content & Strategy

    Bingjiefu He brings his experience as a news startup founder and content editor to Influence Matters. He has a solid background in content with a particular interest in tech & gadgets, economics, politics, cyber-activism, and international relations.

    At Influence Matters, he is in charge of all things content, leading the teams that strategise, plan, research and develop content that makes a difference for our clients.

    Prior to joining Influence Matters, Bingjiefu He founded an online news startup where he managed a team of freelance writers and journalists in delivering fact-based, researched news via social media. He also worked as marketing and communications consultant for Zeno Radio, a media startup based in New York, as well as Himalayan Consensus, a social enterprise focused non-profit based in Hong Kong.

    After returning to China from the States, Bingjiefu He worked for clients such as the Hainan Tourism Development Commission & Xinhua News Agency in overseas communications.

  • Edward YANG

    Junior Executive, Media Relations and Social Media

    Edward handles media relations, social media programs and industry trends research for the agency’s tech clients. He is also one of the bridges between influential press and our clients, ensuring top quality awareness in target ecosystems of influence.

    He is passionate about language, still working on the side project he started at university, a WeChat platform called Polyglot connecting people interested in languages in China.

    Edward Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business English from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, and a Double Major Bachelor’s degree in German from Wuhan University.

  • ZHOU Anran

    Junior Executive, Media Relations and Social Media

    Anran is the media analyst and research specialist at Influence Matters. As such, she is in charge of executing media relations strategies for our clients, ensuring the target media is aware of the importance of our clients’ communications.

    Prior to joining Influence Matters, Anran was an executive in media buy agency Zenith Optimedia in China and completed an internship at Hill+Knowlton Strategies.

    Anran holds a Masters’ degree in Marketing and Advertising from the university of Leeds, U.K. and a Bachelor in Financial Management from the Zhongnan University of Economics and Law in Wuhan.
