The MWC 2021 Shanghai kicked off on 23rd February 2021. Despite COVID-19, the event received an exceptional amount of attention from thousands of attendees. It marked the first tech event of 2021 and would probably be one of the few events that’d happen this year.

The event showed the rest of the world – what the post-COVID world would look like, with China as a leading representation. With in-person events making their way back, it’s something the rest of the world should be excited to expect.

Many industry leaders like Huawei, ZTE, Nokia, and Qualcomm took the opportunity to showcase their new products, 5G technology & solutions. Among these leaders are also Influence Matters’ client – SOITEC, who exhibited its products. Soitec is a France-based international industrial company specialized in generating and manufacturing high-performance semiconductor materials.

The theme of MWC Shanghai this year was Harmony & Symbiosis. It showcased the latest industry breakthroughs & trends in 5G, AI, IoT, smart homes & travel – along with chips, security maintenance, RF technology, etc. Exhibitors used the collision and integration of diversified technologies to promote harmony and symbiosis in mobile communications, bringing an absolute technological feast to the audience.

With the maturity of 5G technology, the mobile industry has gradually pushed to an unprecedented height. Liu Hong, Technology General manager at GSMA Greater China, shared his views on the concept of 5G millimeter-wave: “5G millimeter-wave will unleash the full potential of 5G, bringing the ultimate experience of 5G, implementing all the initial promises of 5G, and realizing all the original visions of 5G”.

The driverless car, VR/AR, gaming industry have soaring demands for fast communication networks like 5G. Once implemented, it will provide high flexibility, extensive coverage to overturn the status quo in serving the entire industry.
