Tl;dr:
In July 2021, Prophesee, a global leader in neuromorphic vision technology, received funding from leading Chinese technology investors, including Sinovation, Inno-Chip, and Xiaomi. Prophesee wanted to leverage its funding announcement to make a big bang and strengthen its business development activities in China.
Due to the pandemic, Prophesee’s CEO couldn’t visit China and participate in the activities in person. In addition, due to Prophesee’s limited experience in the China market and Chinese media ecosystem, the company needed professional PR experts to assist them in reaching their targeted stakeholders and audience as well as coordinate with experienced VCs and their communication teams.
To ensure the strength and significance of the funding round were well-received by leading Chinese investors. Influence Matters proposed to hold a hybrid online-offline press event in the offices of funding round lead, Sinovation. Sinovation, led by famed AI investor Kaifu Lee who would deliver a message personally at the event, would allow Prophesee to leverage its influence to reach a wide range of business, finance, and technology leaders in China.
In coordination with Sinovation’s team and investment leads, Influence Matters put together an event comprising a demo of Prophesee’s technology – democratizing through experience the concept of neuromorphic vision systems. Followed by a 30 media press event led remotely by the founder and CEO of Prophesee, Luca Verre (based in France), and supported by local Prophesee and Sinovation teams.
Several interviews with top EE and tech press, including exclusive pre-announcement interviews with 36Kr and TechCrunch, allowed Luca to present his vision for Prophesee and plans for expansion in China.
On social, Influence Matters designed informative content to deliver similar messages to less savvy technologists and engineers alike, pushing digital content including infographics and videos.
The press conference successfully invited reporters and editors from 30+ industry and top business media such as EET China, QbitAI, TMT Post, Jiemian, ChinaDaily, etc. The activity produced over 190 media reports, nearly 20 homepage articles, and positive feedback from the media. Prophesee’s WeChat account also gained over 100 followers in the same month and generated direct sales leads.
