Challenge

In recent years, as China’s chip industry faces US sanctions, RISC-V has drawn increasing attention from Chinese companies due to its advantages of openness, flexibility, high scalability, and superior power consumption and efficiency. Data shows that the China RISC-V Industry Alliance now has about 200 members. However, faced with vast market opportunities, an up and coming technology company struggles to stand out among numerous competitors and attract the attention of investors and potential customers. SpacemiT needed to stand out.

Strategy

Influence Matters developped a highly effective ongoing media relations strategy to put SpacemiT’s milestones and advanced product R&D in front of electronic engineers, hardware developers, business decision-makers in the RISC-V industry, as well as target investors.  

The team leveraged the company’s milestones, such as new product launches, to develop high-quality content and built lasting relationships with top-tier business, electronic, and tech media in China. This approach delivered regular front-page coverage, positioning SpacemiT as the best partner for RISC-V chip solutions. 

In one such launch, we would position advancements made by SpacemiT, which has developed a high-performance processor core, the X100. Our articles would demonstrate how this processor core has achieved impressive benchmark scores, surpassing many mainstream domestic high-performance processors. The company would also announce having secured substantial funding from notable investors, positioning itself as a strong contender in the high-performance RISC-V processor market 

In addition to the press program, we provided profound WeChat content, highlighting new leadership, partnerships, and event recaps to showcase the company’s leading image in the RISC-V industry. 

Impact

The team helped SpacemiT in promoting its new products, K100 and Key Stone K1 respectively, across multiple renowned electronic, business and technology media outlets, significantly enhancing SpacemiT’s exposure and reach among target media, audiences, and within the RISC-V industry.  

In total, over 50 media clippings were secured, mainly from top tier media outlets EETimes China, EETOP, Elecfans, eeworld, SemiInsights, EEPW, Leiphone, 36Kr, and Investment Circle. Additionally, Influence Matters has secured 2 interview opportunities from tier one media TMTPost and LatePost for SpacemiT.
